Geoffrey Say has been blessed to work in the music ministry for 32 years in various capacities: as choir director, pianist, organist, voice coach, music director and music teacher. He graduated cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines with a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition and Theory. He received full scholarship at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, where he received his Master of Music degree in Composition, minor in Organ Performance. He is certified with the American Guild of Organists, Choristers Guild Institute and in Suzuki Method of Instruction.
Since 2007, Geoffrey has worked as the K-8 music teacher at St. Helena Catholic School and is also the music director at St. Helena Catholic Church. The kids learn teamwork and leadership skills through singing in the choir and playing hand chimes as a group. He has found it most rewarding to see how music has helped the school children grow in their faith, self-confidence and desire to serve in the community. His students regularly sing for the seniors, at the Culinary Inst. of America’s Christmas Open House, at weekly school liturgies and at Sunday and special liturgies at St. Helena Catholic Church.
Geoffrey and his wife Christina live in Napa with their eight children, three of whom are currently attending St. Helena Catholic School. He believes that music nourishes the soul and is an integral component in a well-rounded education.
